The "Tennis Center" is a result of generous gifts from William J. Sweet's son, Bill Sweet of North Bend, and other prominent individuals and companies of the North Bend/Coos Bay area. The facility was donated to the Boys and Girls Club primarily for the purpose of exposing and educating children to the wonderful game of Tennis.

The facility also services the community's need for adult play and programs. As it is owned by the Boys and Girls Club, the center operates as a non-profit entity providing free tennis classes to Boys and Girls Club children in it's "after school" program. Other fee-paid programs and membership help offset the expenses of the tennis center.

The community thanks the Sweet family and others that have made this gift of tennis possible and available to all.
